Im not actually sure if more exalts will get used or not. Yes this change encourages you to yolo exalt but you can now only use a maximum of four exalts on a single item. Previously some of the top tier players would dump thousands of exalts into a single item. I think there will be a change from trying to craft a perfect 6T1 item to finding a good rare and yoloing to try and get something decent. If people do still try and craft from scratch then its going to increase the demand for alterations and regals as you will need to complete the earlier steps far more often.

Theres also the issue of if the price of exalts increases. If yolo exalting does become popular then the price will go up because more players are in demand of them. When the price goes up it makes it less worthwhile to use them because it becomes cheaper to buy a better rare off xyz or to try and chaos spam for something decent.

I feel like this is a great change for temporary leagues but a terrible change for the permanent leagues. It will make it impossible for anyone who hasn't stockpiled eternals and perfect 6 T1 items to compete.

Maybe compete isnt the right word, but my point is this change only widens the gap between those that have eternals and those that dont. I could easily see certain high end items in the future being sold for 'eternals only' and if you dont have a stockpile you just wont be able to buy them without RMTing.

I agree its a fantastic change for the temporary leagues but they should still drop in the permanent leagues.

Because noone is going to be able to craft BiS rares once the eternals run out. That means that if you are the one to craft a new BiS rare you have absolute control of the market. I can guarantee you that after this patch mirror fees are going to skyrocket. Previously they were limited by 'is it cheaper for me to mirror it or craft it myself?' but now crafting it yourself isnt realistically feasable.
